You can’t remove your email account without also deleting your entire AOL account, which prevents you from using any other AOL services, like AIM. Additionally, after 90 days, your emails and address book are completely destroyed and you are unable to regain your account. If you use your AOL username and password to log in, you can reactivate AOL and receive your address book back.
- Open the My Account page on AOL, type your username and password into the two fields and click Sign In to log in to your account. Type the answer to the security question and click Continue to access the My Account page.
- Click the Manage My Subscriptions link in the Service Options section of the My Account page. Free accounts can be closed from the My Subscriptions page
- Click the Cancel link to cancel your AOL account.
- Please Select Your Reason… drop-down box allows you to choose a reason for terminating your AOL account.
If you are certain you want to remove the account, click the Cancel AOL button. The account is immediately terminated. Select the Keep My Plan link to cancel.
