Knowing how to modify or reset your Instagram password is a crucial step in maintaining your account’s security. Even though Instagram is perhaps less of a target for hackers because it doesn’t keep credit card information, it’s generally a good idea to update all passwords from time to time (and ideally use one of the best password managers).
Here’s how to change or reset your Instagram password, regardless of whether your login was made public due to a data breach, you want to increase security (don’t use the same password across sites!), or you simply forgot what you chose the first time.
Please take note that these directions are just for users of independent logins. You can login in using your Facebook credentials since its acquisition in 2012, but if you do that, you should update your password on Facebook.
