About Vimeo Memberships

Users of Vimeo’s free Basic membership level receive a weekly upload allowance of 500MB with a 5GB video storage limit. Playback is available in 720p HD and SD. Basic analytics, embedding options, privacy controls, and other features are available in this tier. 10 videos may be uploaded each day.

Plus Membership

If you’re a more experienced artist who likes to shoot videos in full HD, Vimeo Plus membership might be your preference. You can get 5GB of weekly storage space, quick video conversions, personalization settings, unrestricted groups and channels, the option to select where your video is embedded, and more for $7 per month (paid annually). For hosting films for your project, portfolio, or personal website, Vimeo Plus is a terrific choice.

If you run out of storage, you can upload a new project or clip every seven days because the storage limit resets every week.

If you’re a creative professional and need even more storage capacity for your endeavors, Vimeo offers a Pro upgrade that features 20GB of weekly storage space, unlimited video plays, and HD 1080p video. Add your own brand to your videos and site without the Vimeo logo, and enjoy advanced controls for video playback. Vimeo Pro is $20 per month and billed annually.

Prepare Your Video for Vimeo

No matter what membership tier you have, you’ll need to prepare your videos for Vimeo before uploading them to maximize storage space and make sure they play smoothly. This involves exporting and compressing your videos and following Vimeo’s upload settings.

File Formats

A variety of video file types, including MP4, MOV, WMV, AVI, and FLV, are supported by Vimeo. Non-video formats like JPEG, WAV, or PNG cannot be uploaded. If you upload an unsupported file type, you’ll get an “invalid file” message.

Audio

The two-channel stereo audio that Vimeo suggests. Your project’s audio should be encoded using the AAC-LC audio codec at a maximum data rate of 320 Kbps. Your audio should be sampled at 48 kHz. Keep the audio in your project at the current sample rate if it is less than 48 kHz.

1. Navigate to Vimeo.com and select login.

2. Log in to your Vimeo account.

3. Select Upload a Video.

4. Select Upload a Video.

5. Find your video and select Open.

6. The video will begin uploading.

7. Fill in the fields, including title, description, language, etc., and then select Save.

8. You’ve uploaded your video to Vimeo.
