Status updates or wall posts on Facebook are viewable to anyone listed in your security settings. You can take something out of your status update history if you post anything you don’t want the world to see or decide to delete a wall post. Maintain your Facebook wall by using the tools provided with each post. A status update cannot be directly edited, but it can be deleted and subsequently replaced with a revised version.

1. Delete Status

Find the disputed status in your Facebook news feed. To use the icon in the top-right corner, move the mouse pointer over the status. Your friends and security settings are represented by the image, which looks like people. At the bottom of the list, click “Delete Post,” then enter your confirmation code when prompted. The message is taken down from your wall, so none of your friends can see it.

2. Update Status

Make the modifications you desire to the old status and enter a new one in your Facebook page’s “What’s on your mind” input section. Replace the deleted original message with the updated status and post it.

3. Copy and Paste

Use your mouse to highlight the text in the original status message. Before you remove the message, use the right-click menu to select “Copy” from the options. Select “Paste” from the shortcut menu when you right-click inside the “What’s on your mind” field. Make the desired adjustments to the original text, then update your status.

4. Consideration

When you delete a status update from Facebook, it is removed from your news feed as well as the news feeds of your friends. The original status remains visible in third-party social media management tools. The original status might still be visible to your friend if they use a social media management tool.
